'The School of Essential Ingredients'

You know that feeling when you almost hate to finish a book, because you know once you have you'll miss reading it? That is how I felt when I came upon the last few pages of this book. This read is a heart-warming story about different people and how their lives are either shaped or enhanced by a cooking class.
As I read this book I too began thinking about different meals, cakes, restaurants, and conversations that I've had with people over delicious food and great wine...

Flowers on a Friday...

I am not sure what it is about receiving flowers that can make a girl's whole day... but it does!

Some days...

I miss when decisions weren't so hard.
And perhaps the only thing I wondered about was which dress I was going to wear the next day...

Dreaming of Treehouses

Last night I had a dream that my friend lived in a treehouse. I think this might be a new travel fantasy of mine...
Treehouse Point in Washington looks to be quite like what I've been dreaming of...
Another place offering treehouse accommodations is in Eureka Springs Arkansas, who would have guessed?

Designer to Love: Marisa Swystun

I have fallen in love with designer Marisa Swystun. Her collection is a testament to her artistry. With pieces that combine beauty and function, she truly delivers a wonderful line that generates one-of-a-kind pieces that are inspiring to the eye.

The best part about Marisa, not only is she a designer, but an advocate for Ivory Coast Mothers and Children, an organization dedicated to providing a healthy environment for birthing mothers in the impoverished village of Braffoueby, Cote D' Ivoire, in West Africa. In Marisa's words, "Every woman writes the book on her own style. I just give her something to work with."
