Sweet & Spicy

Happy (almost) Halloween lovely readers!

Lately, I have had a craving for popcorn. I am thinking that a scary movie, and maple-chile popcorn will be perfect.

How to: Wear Sequins

Sequins are a fun, flirty way to spice up an outfit. You just want to avoid looking like a disco ball.
These looks from JCrew are so cute. I love the balance of sequins. They aren't overpowering or overdone. Don't be afraid of incorporating sequin pieces into your wardrobe, just balance them!

To the end of a relaxing weekend...

Happy Sunday!

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.
I spent most of my time catching up on doing nothing. Sometimes life gets so hectic and crazy that we miss the moment and forget to enjoy where we are right now. Lately, I have been trying to just "be"... not worrying about tomorrow or yesterday or what the next year or next 5 years brings, but enjoying the now. It's easier said than done! I think everyone wonders about something in their life just a little...

Halloween Cookies

Yummy Halloween Cookies!

Last week, I tried to "cleanse" for a few days with smoothies, fruits and veggies. Friday, around 3 o'clock, my friend Beth came over with Halloween cookies from Whole Foods and I couldn't resist! Needless to say, I broke the cleanse with pumpkin and ghost cookies!

If you would like to make your own sweet treat, here are some ideas from Southern Living.

Happy Fall Friday

I'm really craving a fall picnic and perhaps a trip to a place where the leaves are changing!
What's your favorite thing about fall?

I'm ready to bring out the boots!

Cleanse?

Lately, I have been feeling a little sluggish. My girlfriends and I are talking about doing a cleanse, but the question is which kind of cleanse should we do? And what can I actually stick to, without wanting to pass out, eat my arm off, or ravenously devour a cookie by the time 3 o'clock rolls around.

The other day I stumbled across Gweyneth Paltrow's blog, Goop and she talks about Alejandro Junger's book Clean "The Revolutionary Program to Restore the Body's Natural Ability to Heal Itself."
In the first week you "ease" into a liquid diet of smoothies, juices and soups to jump start the detox. Week 2, you asses your eating and stick to a vegetarian diet. Week 3 is for breaking bad habits. I have a terrible habit of not eating properly all day and eating cereal for dinner at midnight! Plus, I have a sweet tooth. If it is between steamed veggies and cookies, I go for the cookie thinking that it actually serves as a proper meal.

I am thinking this 28-Day Mind+Body Challenge, might not be all that bad! It isn't too intense and isn't about a crash plan that will make you gain weight as soon as you finish!
