Feel It
As we approach January 2011, I can't help but look back over the past year. I am so thankful for so many things... My wonderful family (a mom who has supported me every step of the way, my Dad who has allowed me to go after what I want and be who I am without judgement, a brother who lends me laughs, support, warmth, hope and a lot of love), real friends, a precious dog (Addie) and a 2010 filled with adventures. I have learned so much and I am thankful to every single person along the way.
One of the many things I will take away from the experiences of 2010: It takes courage to go ahead and enjoy your life. It takes courage to let go, to be vulnerable and to feel it all- the pain, the joy. It takes courage to be imperfect and to accept those imperfections. It takes courage to be alive and I mean really alive. Because, you will get hurt. You will feel pain. But you will also be able to feel love.
Everything works out. I really believe that. Everything is unraveling as it should. We just have to get out of the way and stop questioning. Have Faith. Have faith!
Wishing all of you a wonderful day! Let's get ready to ring in 2011.

Blueberry Muffins
On Christmas morning, I woke up earlier than everyone else and made blueberry muffins. I actually didn't burn them-- they were delicious! When I was growing up, I loved the smell of blueberry muffins coming from the kitchen.
Here is a recipe from Martha Stewart, just in case you are interested. Enjoy!

Merry Christmas Eve!
Above is an old advertisement from Tiffany's. Isn't it precious? This time of year is always very nostalgic. It is a time to be with family, friends and the people you love. 'Tis the season for loving and giving. Savor every moment. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas.
Love and Light to all,
Sarah
P.S. Don't these Christmas cookies look too pretty to eat? For the recipe go to Annie's Eats...

Cute Couple
A True-Life Novel
I have finally had the time to sit down and become immersed in good books. Right now, I am reading Half Broke Horses, a book recommended to me by mom. Written by Jeannette Walls,' author of The Glass Castle, Walls takes you into the life of Lily Casey- mustang breaker, schoolteacher, ranch wife, bootlegger, poker player, etc. Throughout this novel, Walls revisits the life of frontier background in West Texas and the challenges, along with the excitement that rolls with it. It is written in short chapters that visually capture the life of Lily Casey.
A great quote from the beginning... "The hardest thing in life is learning how to fall."

Happy Weekend!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. Sorry for the missed posts on Thursday and Friday...
We just got to Colorado! Today, we are decorating the tree, putting out presents and enjoying the snowfall!
PS- This year my mom and I are wrapping all gifts in brown paper with colored ribbons! We're going for a natural, but festive look.

A Little Bit Obsessed...
With Rugby Ralph Lauren...
My family spent the weekend in Dallas not too long ago and a good amount of time between my mom and I was spent in the Rugby Ralph Lauren store. They have some of the cutest clothes to bundle up in. I couldn't get enough of it. I bought everything from sweaters, to blouses, to dresses and my mom loved it too!
If you are looking for cozy sweaters or something to wear to one of the many holiday soirées... I suggest looking at Rugby!
Warm Welcome
I love wreaths and greenery when it comes to decorating for the holidays. Southern Living always has great decorating ideas... Here are tons for creating wreaths this season: Southern Living's Holiday Wreaths.

Recovery...
Good evening my dears!
I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was wonderful, but a bit of a whirlwind. My friend, Jane flew from San Francisco and I came from Houston to meet up with her in Arkansas to run a half-marathon with my brother and some of our friends.
It was 19 degrees and we had icicles in our hair from sweat! Needless to say, I have been exhausted and can't really move my legs. Resting in my socks, ugg slippers and having breakfast for dinner is on the menu for the evening.
I hope everyone had a great Monday!
P.S. If you live in Fayetteville and haven't eaten at The Greenhouse Grille you must go! We ate there Friday night for dinner and Sunday morning for brunch after our run. Yes, we went there twice in one weekend-- that is how good it is! Here is a post on it from September: Conscious Living... Check it out!

Healthy Benefits
Lately, I have been eating tons of pomegranates. I get the already seeded ones, because I'm lazy... but needless to say, they are delicious! And the best part is, they are actually really good for you. Southern Living just did a feature on the 5 reasons pomegranates make you healthier. Apparently, they keep your teeth clean, they regulate cholesterol, they can prevent arthritis, they are a great source of fiber and they protect your skin.
To view the article, click HERE!
If you have never tried pomegranates, besides drinking the juice, I suggest you do! The already seeded ones are available everywhere from Wal-Mart to Whole Foods.

All Bundled Up!
Does it get any sweeter?
I love this advertising campaign from Tiffany & Co... "A celebration of the joy of true love, the warm embrace of family and the magic of the season in New York, the striking scenarios were shot by renowned photographer Peter Lindbergh and feature models Doutzen Kroes and Inés Sastre as well as motion picture star Patrick Wilson and actor Neal Bledsoe." Such a magical feel...

A Space to Create
Happy almost weekend everyone!
I came across these images the other day and I thought to myself... I don't have a studio, yet, but if I ever do it would be nice to make it look like this!
I hope everyone has a great friday and a great weekend.

Angels come down to Earth
Yes, ladies and gentleman, the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show was last night. I look forward to this show every single year... Although, some of my favorite models, Miranda Kerr and Doutzen Kroes didn't walk the runway, it was still a great show as always. Hope you didn't miss it! But if you did... here are some shots. I always love the themes, the wings and the down right sex appeal.
