A little Sunday Inspiration
I'm not going to lie, I've spent much of my weekend at home and it has been necessary and nice... a little restorative. When I came across this picture from Garance Dore, I loved everything about it, the softness and the light. There is something very simple and comfortable about it. Garance is a master with light. Anyway, I hope all of you had a great weekend!

Fallin'
I am starting to crave fall weather. It is hard to think about wearing tights, jackets, boots and chunky knits sitting here in the heat, but when I came across the See by Chloe collection for Fall 2011, I fell in love a little. I love the feminine look, yet it has a little bit of an edge that creates personality. I love it. Is there any other person looking forward to fall yet??
Ahh, I have a feeling I am going to have to take a trip to Arkansas or the NE to see some leaves change, we don't get that as much here!
Happy Thursday all!

A Working Wednesday
Happy Wednesday my dears. I hope you all woke up with more energy than I did. I had the worst headache last night and I never get headaches. Luckily, my friend Sarah dropped by with a bottle of wine in hand and after half-a-glass the vice grip that seemed to be on my head, started to release. Thank God for wonderful girlfriends. Today, I will be diligently trying to knock out some writing pieces and if that doesn't matriculate then I will have to take a dip in the pool on this hot Houston day.
Lots of Love! And if you ever find yourself with a headache the size of Mexico, drink some wine.

My love for...
Have you all heard of her (the link to her website is on the right of my page, but...)? If you haven't, I will tell you that The Man Repeller has to be one of my favorite fashion blogs. Her commentary is hilarious, honest and seriously, very seriously one of the best. Plus, the girl really is everywhere. Alright, when I say everywhere, I mean everywhere in the world in which I live... which some refer to as "a bubble." Anyway, when I came across her desire for an intern, I was laughing out loud at the credentials she gave: please read HERE. If you have ever worked in the creative industry, I bet you can relate... if you haven't well then you will either laugh along or think that we are all crazy. Either way your reaction would be sufficient.
Hope you enjoy. : )

In the Heat of Summer
Well, I am finally back in Houston and although it's a little hotter than it was in the mountains, I am so happy to be back. I hope everyone is having a great Monday.
Next time I'm in Colorado, I might have to do this. I really miss backpacking! While I was in Aspen on Saturday, my mom talked about how she backpacked to the Maroon Bells. I definintely wouldn't mind doing the same.

Currently Loving...
Happy Friday! So, I decided to do a little post on all the things that I'm currently loving at this very moment. The list is long, but the plethora of pink peonies growing along the sidewalks up here in Colorado makes me smile every day, and I really want to stack some friendship bracelets on my wrists and perhaps own Kate Bosworth's closet... she always looks amazing! Anything that you currently can't live without? Or loving? Please share! Also, can anyone else believe how fast summer is flying by?
Crazy! Enjoy all the ice cream, pool time and watermelon!

From the mind of a not-so-sleepy Yogi
Good Morning, Wednesday! I hope everyone is off to a great start today. Since I have been in Colorado, here there and everywhere, I haven't had too much time for my wonderful yoga classes. I came across this post on Garance Dore and it made me laugh simply because it's how I feel sometimes when it comes to dragging my ass out of bed to get a work out in. Actually, who am I kidding? Honestly, the only days I drag my ass out of bed for yoga are on Saturdays, otherwise a 6am yoga class and I do not mix. Okay, I went once to the 6am class... but because I started to feel nauseated and my body wondered what the heck was going on at 6, when I still could have been in my warm bed sleeping until the light begins to seep in (yes, I'm lucky...) I haven't ventured out that early in awhile. When I did get up really early, I have to say that my thoughts scattered from "oh, why am I doing this. I can barely balance to put on my yoga pants" to "Okay, I am already in my car, no turning back." Upon arrival, and doing my first downward dog of the day, nausea hit and the guy next to me was breathing so loudly, I thought he was snoring. But, by the end of the class it was only 7:15 and I had my whole day set with the feeling that, "yes, I could accomplish anything." Yippee! Wonderful! And upon my ecstatic feeling I then, excitedly told all of my friends that they should join my yoga class...
The end.
To read Garance's post, click HERE. You will find our thoughts to be shared and probably any of you other yogi's out there who wake up at 6, can probably sympathize!

Happy Birthday, Mama!
Good Morning Everyone! Happy Tuesday and Happy Birthday to my wonderful mom!! I am very lucky to get to spend the day with her! She has taught me so much and has instilled in me so many things. She is a constant reminder to love myself, that everything will always work out, to take care of myself, enjoy everything... She has given me a great love for design from clothes to interior design, a love of all things blue and white, love for the mountains and the ocean, she encourages me to travel, eat what I want, live fully, relax, work and love. She is a wonderful painter, mom, wife, friend, skier, horse back rider and so many other things! This is a little thank you to my mom... for being herself and in turn teaching me to be myself. And she is never to busy to take my phone call... : ) Mom's are the best! Send your mama some love today, near or far, here or there!
PS. My brother's bday was on Sunday and my late grandmother's bday was yesterday... so many bday's and so thankful to have such a wonderful older brother who always stands by me!

A little Detox
After 10 days of eating wonderful food, including lots of ice cream, and other sweets there is nothing that would feel better than a nice detox this week. It's fun to indulge, but it's nice to get back into a healthy regime (or at least try to)! Gimme' fruits, veggies, whole grains, lean proteins and some exercise. Not that our vacation wasn't without exercise... we did a 34 mile bike ride! Woohoo! I hope everyone has a great Monday!

Love, Love, Love LeSueur
A couple of weeks ago, I had the great pleasure of having lunch with Meg from LeSueur Interiors:lagniappe. Not only is she wonderfully talented, she is just flat out wonderful to be around and talk with... I had the best time! If you haven't already checked out her website, please do!

Hello, Mountains
I hope everyone is having a great week. Sorry for the silence. We were in Santa Fe over the weekend and now, Colorado. Yes, we are taking a 10 day vacation and so far we have eaten really good food, seen a lot of gorgeous mountains and gone on fun bike rides. The weather is so nice here in Breckenridge. We have clear mornings and rain in the afternoon... perfect mountain weather. It makes me ready for fall! Sweaters, boots, flannel shirts... I can't say that I was dreaming about fall weather in Houston. I hope all of you are staying out of the heat! And enjoying the summer!

Soothes the Soul
I hope everyone has a great weekend! We are off to Santa Fe, and I can't wait! I have been going to New Mexico every year since I was about... 2 years old, due to the fact that it has always been my dad's favorite place in the world. I can't wait to have dinner at El Farol, lunch at The Shed and walk around Canyon Road. Do you have a favorite place to visit? A place where you completely relax and take in everything? When I tell people my place is Santa Fe, everyone is always like... "That's your favorite place?" My answer is always yes, with a big smile. There's just something about it that I love! I feel like you either fall in love with it or you don't get it and for the people who don't get it, we probably shouldn't be friends. Just kidding... But, if you have never gotten the chance to go to Santa Fe! Please do! It is pretty great, I don't think there is another place in the United States like it!
Enjoy your Friday! And your weekend! : )

Steel Magnolia
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley seems to be everywhere these days. Yesterday, I took a little trip to the bookstore and she was on the cover of at least four magazines. When I saw this shoot in the Elle UK, July issue I couldn't help but to post it. I love it! Rosie is gorgeous and fashion editor, Ann-Marie Curtis as well as photographer, Terry Tsiolis captured a sense of romance and radiance. Perfection, yes?

A Little Rustic
Good Morning! I can't believe it is already Wednesday... as I mentioned yesterday we are heading to Colorado on Friday. I can't wait! I love Colorado! Although a home like this would be nice. I imagine this rustic cottage somewhere in the south of France, but I'm pretty sure it's located in Spain. I'd take either one...

Summer Style
Hello Everyone! I hope everyone had a great Fourth! Mine was interesting, but good! I met my brother and some of our friends down at a lake in Arkansas and I hadn't been there over the Fourth of July weekend in forever! It was great to get some water skiing in, see old friends and the weather was perfect! Now it's time to get ready for some mountains. In the meantime, I will be planning what to pack-- a lot of white, a lot of sun dresses and of course running clothes, yoga clothes and my biking shoes! Let the vacations begin!
